Gross-out comedy and surprisingly sweet romance figure on this week’s Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Luke Stevenson, with Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

We review the comedy double header of Kumail Nanjiani‘s autobiographical romcom The Big Sick and the outrageous Girls Trip, in which four school friends reunite to descend upon New Orleans for a weekend of partying and mayhem. There’s also a review of 47 Metres Down, which sees two women trapped at the bottom of the ocean, right in the midst of dozens of great white sharks.

In the news section, we discuss a lot of bits and pieces, from John Cena‘s casting in the first Transformers spin-off to the initial teaser trailer for Darren Aronofsky horror film mother!, which stars Jennifer Lawrence. The top five section is inspired by Girls Trip, focusing on the best gross-out comedy moments in movie history.
