It might be the strongest movie release week of the year so far on the latest episode of the Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Luke Stevenson, with Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.
In a packed reviews section, we start by taking a swipe at Bruce Willis marauding around with an arsenal of weapons in Death Wish. Then, we discuss the rock solid horror double bill of A Quiet Place and British anthology horror Ghost Stories, before rounding things off with the heart-warming and immediately memorable gay romcom Love, Simon.
Over on the news side of things, it’s an onslaught of trailers, including our first full looks at Incredibles 2 and shark-fighting actioner The Meg. There is also a new trailer for Ocean’s 8 and a truly tedious look at Solo: A Star Wars Story, which is shaping up to be one of the year’s more disappointing blockbusters. To round things off, we give a report on the state of play for 2018 so far – a third of the way through the year.
