The biggest cinematic event of this year, and possibly of all-time, is set to debut this week when the superhero deathmatch of Avengers: Infinity War finally hits the multiplex, complete with its big, purple villain Thanos. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been consistently criticised for its poor bad guys, but that’s not to say that Thanos doesn’t have any competition. From mischievous gods to angry Celestials, there have been a selection of memorable villains in the history of the MCU, who deserve to be talked about alongside that guy with the shiny glove.
